who we are
We started antecedent because we kept looking for a store that did not exist. A place that brought together the best independent designers and emerging brands from around the world, curated with intention and presented without pretension. A retail space rooted in quality clothing, genuine community, and the conversations that happen when people who care about what they wear find each other.
why we exist
Georgia has a fashion community that is ready for something different. For too long, discovering great clothing here has meant driving to Atlanta, shopping online and hoping for the best, or settling for what the mall offers. We believe that access to thoughtfully made, globally sourced clothing should not require a plane ticket. antecedent is being built for the people in our community who love clothing and the stories behind it — the makers, the materials, the places where it all begins.
where we are going
We are opening in Duluth, GA in Fall 2027, starting with a pop-up before moving into a permanent location in 2028. In the time between now and then, we are traveling to Tokyo and Seoul to source the brands that will define what antecedent is. We are building relationships with designers who share our values, and we are growing a community of people who will be there from the beginning.
